August!
I was still in Ottawa during the first week of August. My best friend invited me and another good friend of ours for an over night sleep over. Her husband was away for work and we took advantage of the situation to have a girls’ night. It felt like high school all over again, especially going through some old pictures, which brought back good memories. We had a lot of laughs and fun.
When I got to Toronto, I went back to Wonderland with my dad after a couple of years. I love going on roller coasters. It was a beautiful day, but lots of people had the same idea to come to the park, so, long line ups and waits. My dad and I shared a Funnel Cake as we do every time we go to Wonderland.
Being an Amy Winehouse fan, my mom and I went to see her life documentary. She had such a beautiful voice and great talent, but her life was so sad and very short. My cousin had seen one of her early shows in the States, before she became a household name, and he said she was amazing. I wish I had the chance of seeing her live.
I have been busy writing a few songs and started co-writing a new song with Heather Meori, a songwriter I have been working with for a while now. I really enjoy writing with her. She and I co-wrote “The Frontline” and glad it came out as my first single.
My new single “The Frontline” was released on iTunes this month and I am so happy that you finally got to hear what I have been working on. Chris Birkett, an award winning producer, produced “The Frontline”. Chris has been involved in producing, engineering, writing and playing music since the 1970s. He has produced some of the biggest names in music: Peter Gabriel, Quincy Jones, Buffy Sainte Marie, Sinead O’Connor, and more. It was such a great pleasure working with him.
My official music video for my single “The Frontline” was filmed in Oakville, Ontario by Whitewolf Studios and directed by Steven Clarke. This was my very first music video and it was a lot of fun filming it. We just drove around and stopped at different locations. One of my favourite spots was at the skate park. It was quite an experience walking up and down in my heels.
